The Tetley The Tetley

Come join in with creative family fun here at The Tetley. We offer a range of events that make sure every family can find something they can take part in.

Free Family Trail

We have a free family trail booklet that guides families around the building and in the gallery spaces to count, draw and look closely! The trail is available every day all year round and is refreshed for each exhibition. Just pick up your trail, clipboard and crayons to begin your adventure. Each child receives a sticker when they've handed in the trail!

Free Activities in Holidays

During school holidays, half term and bank holidays our learning studio is open from 11am to 3pm for self-directed activities. You'll find inspiration and materials available for you to doodle, stick and make your own creative fun in response to ideas in the current exhibition.

Free Regular Family Art Workshops (every other Saturday)

Family Art Workshops are creative activity sessions led by artists. Inspired by our programme and our building, activities can include anything from making monoprints, to designing robots, book-making and creating recycled crafts.

These drop-in activities are open to all, but are especially suitable for families with children aged 5–11. Visitors can stay for as long or as little as they like. Activities are free and no booking is required. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Tiny Tetley (every month)

Creative and messy play for children under 5!

Bring the little ones along to join in creative and messy play. Tiny Tetley workshops take place on the fourth Wednesday of each month and are led by artists with great skills for children aged zero to five. Inspired by The Tetley's exhibition programme and all things creative, activities include things such as sensory activities, playing with different types of bright colourful materials, to drawing on a big scale. The workshops are especially good for ages 1–4 but we supply soft mats for our youngest audience.

£3 per child.
