Print perform present

The event was a celebration of print and performance throughout our building, with a wide selection of independent artists displaying and selling new original artwork, from self-published zines, colourful screen prints, artist books, cards and more.

Alongside the stalls, there were a series of live performances, and attendees could chat directly with the artists, learn more about their practices in Spotlight talks and get hands on in a wide variety of creative workshops.

Building better futures, RACE ZINE
1–4pm, drop-in, Learning Studio

How do we build a better future for everyone? In this workshop we looked at the idea of the future from the standpoint of diversity and inclusion. We built imaginary worlds, spaces and ideas through questioning our own current climate and experiences. Through using symbols and visual aids, alongside group and independent discussion, we created zines to bring these futures alive. In sum: speculative, wacky, fun, messy and of course, futuristic.

We explored large-scale mark-making techniques in response to retro beats. We danced and drew all at once, filling the room with colour and energy: mark-makers on sticks, mark-making tails, arm extensions and shoes.
